Was the theme for this unforgettable evening last Saturday as we pulled off a terrific event, unexpected snow storm and all. Well done everyone! Here is the press release from the event that celebrated the great state of New Jersey. Oh What a Night! The Umbrella Gala was held Saturday, October 26 at the Patriots Theater in Trenton, despite the snowstorm that hit that day. The event had a New Jersey theme, with "The Midtown Men," four of the original cast members of the Broadway musical "Jersey Boys" performing. We had 180 people show in excellent spirits to enjoy food, drink, and a great performance. Jessica Krill, a member of Family Faculty, spoke about her experience at the hospital, and introduced her daughters Katie and Kelly, both patients in Toms River. During the show, Midtown man Daniel Reichard took a break from singing to talk about the group's visit last month to Children's Specialized in New Brunswick. He gave a very special shout-out to the kids here who are "fighting the fight of their lives" and to the staff who give so much of themselves. Reichard described their visit to our hospital as "mind-expanding." The Gala raised $290,000 to support the opening this year of Lakehurst Road. Special thanks to Jessica and her family for sharing their story, for all employees who attended and supported the event, and to Mary Harris and all who worked that night to make it a success.
