So I'm in the business of planning and organizing other people so I get asked a lot how I keep organized myself. Fall is my favorite time of year, it's the beginning of a new school year which to me means sanctioned trips to Staples for unnecessary various-sized Post-its and colored binder clips. Fun desk accessories aside, I break my planning down into stages. For overall project planning I use an online planning platform for tickler reminders and lists, for daily tasks I switch to a simple word doc with colored lists broken down by day. Ultimate check off list satisfaction comes in the moment when an event's final tasks make it down to one lined Post-It attached to the front of the folder, that means the home stretch.
