Just a week before her own wedding Astrid was in a friend's wedding in Maine. When she got into town we met to wrap up the final details of the wedding she pointed out the bruises on her knees. The mom at the wedding last weekend had a heart attack and Astrid, a med student, spent over half an hour on her knees giving CPR. Being in rural Maine EMT's weren't right around the corner and she literally saved this woman's life! I was so proud of her and equally pleased to be able to be a support to her in planning all of the wedding details while she pulled all of those long hours in medical school.
